Advantage Gym Sports – Statement 17 March 2020

Following recent State and Federal Government announcements in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, there are changes upcoming to Aerobic Gymnastics competition events.

Please find attached Gymnastics Victoria’s, Gymnastics NSW’s and Gymnastics Australia’s updates regarding events relevant to our Aerobic squads from now until August 1, 2020.

We note, these changes are disappointing and will impact our hard-working athletes and coaches. Our team is understanding of the growing concerns of the community in light of current situations.

We encourage you to check official sources and we are following advice of the Victorian Government Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) and https://www.health.gov.au/.

Training remains as usual with following increased precautionary measures to ensure Advantage Gym Sports remains a safe and healthy environment for all:
• Increased frequency of disinfectant cleaning
• Promotion of best hygiene practices, making sure to clean hands thoroughly for at least 20 seconds with soap and water, or an alcohol-based hand rub (same amount of time as singing Happy Birthday twice)
• Increased supply of hand sanitiser, tissues and cleaning products
